Job description

We are looking for local care staff in the Grafton area to pick up shifts as and when required by our client. Ad Hoc shifts week to week. No commitments work when you are free!

This position is for local staff only, you may be able to commute or live in Grafton already. 

Responsibilities:
  1. Personal Care: Assist residents with their daily activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, while promoting their independence and preserving their dignity.
  2. Medication Assistance: Administer medications according to the prescribed dosage and schedule under the supervision of registered nurses or medical professionals.
  3. Health Monitoring: Observe and report changes in residents' physical and mental conditions to the healthcare team, ensuring prompt attention and appropriate follow-up.
  4. Assistance with Mobility: Support residents with mobility needs, including transferring, positioning, and ambulation, while ensuring their safety and comfort.
  5. Emotional Support: Foster a compassionate and understanding environment, actively listening to residents' concerns and providing emotional support and companionship.
  6. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including registered nurses, doctors, and therapists, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for residents.
  7. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of residents' care plans, observations, and interactions, adhering to facility protocols and regulatory requirements.
  8. Safety and Hygiene: Ensure a clean and safe environment for residents, following infection control practices and assisting with the maintenance of cleanliness and hygiene standards.
Requirements:
  1. Qualifications: Completion of a Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, or equivalent qualification recognised in the aged care sector.
  2. Empathy and Compassion: Possess a genuine passion for working with the elderly, demonstrating empathy, patience, and a respectful attitude towards their individual needs.
  3. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with residents, their families, and the healthcare team.
  4. Team Player: Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
  5. Adaptability: Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays, and adapt to changing resident needs and priorities.
  6. Attention to Detail: Strong observation skills with a keen eye for detail, ensuring accurate reporting and effective monitoring of residents' health and well-being.
  7. Ethics and Confidentiality: Uphold the highest standards of ethics, maintaining confidentiality and respecting residents' privacy rights.
