About the Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager and collaborate closely with the Directors, you willl drive excellence in their automation projects whilst leading a team of 10-12 controls engineers.
This is a hands-on role, leading the integration of control systems across various platforms and industries, from development through to commissioning and project completion.
Key Responsibilities
Salary: Competitive salary package (>$150k) + Super
Location: Melbourne, Victoria

About the Role

This is a hands-on role, leading the integration of control systems across various platforms and industries, from development through to commissioning and project completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead operational excellence in software and automation
- Explore and implement cutting-edge technologies
- Serve as the go-to person for technical escalations and design inquiries
- Contribute to high-level concept designs and proof-of-concept work to support sales and solutions
- Collaborate with the engineering manager to ensure proper processes, documentation, and project completion
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant engineering discipline (electrical, automation etc.)
- In-depth understanding of PLC and SCADA systems, IIoT, industrial communications, and network design
- Experience with process control systems, including VSDs, servos, networks, and proprietary controllers.
- Expertise in Ignition SCADA (highly regarded).
- Solid understanding of managed networks, VLANs, firewalls etc.
- Strong skills in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, Java, and SQL.
- Knowledge of IIoT protocols and concepts, including MQTT and cloud integration.
