The Role:
  
As the CAD Operator, your responsibilities will include translating design concepts into technical drawings, collaborating with architects and engineers, and ensuring that all drawings adhere to relevant standards and regulations.

Your expertise in CAD software and your attention to detail will be integral in supporting the successful execution of the companies spec home building projects.

Reporting to the Production Manager, the CAD operator will produce accurate and precise architectural masters and construction drawings using the CAD software.
  • Software Experience: ArchiCAD
  • Full Time: Monday to Friday (8:30am-5pm)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement new Master plans.
  • Prepare plan amendments as directed by the Product Manager.
  • Prior to commencement of drawing plans, ensure all the necessary information is available and accurate.
  • Ensure all computer records /comments are maintained.
  • Carry out general administration tasks as directed
  • Check all final drawings for accuracy and completeness and if required make amendments as per specifications in a timely manner as directed by either the Design Manager or Product Manager.
  • Check for any variations and make the necessary adjustments.
  • Complete all mark ups issued by the Product and Design Manager.
  • Perform all photocopying and filing duties as required.
  • Ensure work area is maintained in a clean, organised, and tidy manner.
  • Ensures that work practices comply with company Occupational Health & Safety policy.
  • Communicates any issues pertaining to Work Health & Safety to the appropriate Work Health & Safety representative and/or committee member and to senior management.
  • Communicate effectively with project teams to ensure accurate representation of design elements.
  • Adhere to established CAD drafting standards and company-specific drawing templates.
  • Stay updated on changes in CAD software and industry standards to maintain proficiency.
  • Ensure that all revised drawings are accurately updated and distributed to relevant parties.
  • Address drawing-related inquiries and provide support to the building & design team as required.
Role Requirements:
  • Diploma or degree in Drafting, CAD Technology, Architecture, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications and coursework in CAD software is essential.
  • Proven experience (10 plus years) as a CAD Operator or a similar role within the construction or architectural industry, with a focus on residential projects.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, Archicad preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of CAD drafting standards, architectural detailing, and construction practices
  • Excellent technical drawing skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with design professionals and project teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple drawings and projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Australian building codes, regulations, and construction practices is advantageous.
