Job description

Our client is a small to medium sized commercial cleaning services / soft services facilities management company who is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager.

The purpose of this role is to help grow the business by selling cleaning services into the commercial, government, industrial, and medical sectors.  This individual will need to have experience identifying and winning new business opportunities, be able to assist with quoting / pricing up cleaning services, and thereafter, maintain strong client relationships to allow for repeat business.

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships (ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business).
  • Prepare and manage tender submissions, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client satisfaction.
  • Price up / quote cleaning service jobs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and internal teams where required to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
What do I need in order to be successful in this role?
  • Approx. 5+ years' experience in a sales, business development or estimating role within the cleaning services sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of the commercial cleaning services / soft services facilities management sector.
  • Ideally able to bring an established network of customers.
  • Experience in estimating or pricing up cleaning services is a must.
  • Strong relationship management and strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and the ability to bring a proactive and strategic approach to business development.
  • Desire for growth and longevity.
  • Engaging personality and presentation skills to drive new business opportunities.
