About the role:
As a Despatch Supervisor, you will play a key role in overseeing the smooth and efficient dispatch and delivery of high-quality commercial furniture products. This full-time position is based in our Mackay, Queensland facility and offers a great opportunity to develop your leadership skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

What you'll be doing:
  • Collaborate with the Branch Manager and the administration team to ensure seamless delivery processes for customers.
  • Work closely with schedulers and provide local knowledge to optimize delivery routes and installation schedules.
  • Supervise and coordinate the despatch team to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient delivery of customer orders.
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with the warehouse team to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Liaise with customers, logistics providers, and internal teams to resolve delivery issues or queries.
  • Implement and maintain effective systems and processes to streamline despatch operations.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the despatch team, offering coaching and support as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Manage goods inwards and outwards, including labelling, checks, and measurements.
  • Perform regular stock checks to ensure accuracy of stock holdings.
  • Manage van/truck loading and unloading, including servicing, maintenance, and cleaning.
  • Ensure correct tools and spare parts are available both on-site and in the warehouse.
  • Ensure floor stock is operational, clean, and free from defects; regularly action internal warranties.
  • Manage all warranty claims in a timely manner, with a focus on customer-first delivery service.
Experience and Skills:
  • Experience in a despatch or logistics supervisory role, ideally within the furniture industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and motivate a team.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities to handle multiple priorities.
  • Proven ability to train and mentor staff in line with KPI expectations.
  • Working knowledge of inventory management and despatch systems.
  • Commitment to workplace health and safety.
  • Physically fit to handle stock lifting on a daily basis.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
  • A White Card (can be obtained upon start date).
