Job description

The Electrical Foreman for residential projects is responsible for overseeing and coordinating electrical installations and maintenance on residential construction sites. This role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to manage a team of electricians to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with relevant codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with project managers to understand project requirements, timelines, and budget constraints.
  • Develop work plans and schedules for electrical installations, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
  • Supervise and lead a team of electricians, apprentices, and other personnel.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to team members to enhance their skills and ensure a high level of productivity.
  • Enforce adherence to electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure the quality of workmanship and compliance with project specifications.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of required materials and equipment.
  • Manage inventory and track material usage to prevent shortages or overages.
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in residential projects.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly to minimize project delays.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to create a secure working environment.
  • Conduct safety meetings and training sessions to promote awareness and compliance.
  • Maintain effective communication with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Keep accurate records of work completed, materials used, and any changes to the original project plan.
  • Prepare reports for project managers and other stakeholders as needed.
Job Requirements
  • Proven experience as an electrician with at least 5 years in a supervisory or foreman role, preferably in residential projects.
  • A valid electrician's license and knowledge of local electrical codes. Additional certifications in project management or leadership are a plus.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings. Familiarity with electrical tools, equipment, and technology.
