Job description

AustCorp Executive is partnering with a well-established, multidisciplinary EPCM firm. The company specialises in developing, engineering and executing large-scale industrial projects across various sectors, Including oil & gas, mining and minerals, power generation and distribution, as well as renewable energy and hydrogen industries. 

As a result of continued growth, we are actively recruiting for Electrical Power Systems Engineer to join the team.
 
As the Electrical Power Systems Engineer your day-to-day engineering will include but not be limited to the following:
  • Working on all aspects of electrical scope of work across all phases of projects including conceptual Studies, FEED, detailed design and procurement through to commissioning.
  • Design HV & LV generation, distribution, reticulation, and control systems.
  • Produce technical documentation, specifications and datasheets for electrical equipment including low and high voltage switchgear, power transformers, protection and control equipment and power management systems.
  • Power system studies including earth grid performance studies, load flow, fault levels, protection coordination, and dynamic / transient system analysis.
  • Detailed design of secondary control and protection systems.
  • Provide guidance, coach and mentor engineers across the discipline.
A little bit about you:
  • A degree qualified Electrical, Power Systems or Instrumentation Engineer, ideally recognised by Engineers Australia.
  • Demonstrated understanding of power system modelling with proficiency in electrical design and simulation tools such as SKM PTW, ETap, DigSilent PowerFactory, PSCAD, CYMCAP, CDEGS, etc.
  • Experience and exposure working with network/ distribution NSPs, knowledge of the NER.
  • Field experience in large scale electrical installations, including IED protection IED configuration, troubleshooting, commissioning, and construction support will be advantageous.
  • Experience and knowledge of the prevalent high voltage design standard and codes including AS/NZS, IEC and IEEE standards.
