Currently recruiting for Electricians based in Sydney working on Governmental / Commercial projects with a well established Electrical Contractor. As an Electrician, you will be responsible for maintenance of projects, upgrading commercial switchboards and repairing electrical systems ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. this role requires a strong knowledge of electrical systems, switchboards, regulations and safety protocols in the governmental / commercial sector. This role would require you to work shift work from 3:30pm to 12:30pm offering you a 3 day weekend.

Responsibilities:
  • You will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, equipment, and machinery. This includes troubleshooting electrical issues, replacing faulty components, and conducting regular preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
  • Testing electrical equipment and systems to identify any malfunctions or potential hazards. This may involve using testing instruments, such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and oscilloscopes, to measure voltage, current, and resistance.
  • Ensuring electrical safety is paramount. You must adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including lockout/tagout procedures, grounding techniques, and arc flash precautions. Regularly inspecting electrical systems for potential hazards and taking appropriate measures to address them is essential.
  • You will need to maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. This includes documenting equipment details, work performed, parts used, and any other relevant information. Additionally, reporting any significant issues, safety concerns, or recommendations to supervisors or relevant stakeholders is crucial.
  • As an electrician, you will often work collaboratively with other maintenance personnel, engineers, and management to ensure smooth operations. This may involve coordinating tasks, sharing knowledge, and assisting with other maintenance duties beyond electrical work.
  • Keeping up with technological advancements is important in this role. You may be involved in upgrading electrical systems to improve efficiency, implementing energy-saving measures, or integrating new technologies for automation and control.
Requirements:
  • Relevant qualifications: Possess a valid electrician license or certification in commercial electrical work, issued by an accredited institution or governing body.
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience working as an electrician, preferably in the commercial sector. Familiarity with electrical systems, wiring, and equipment commonly found in commercial buildings.
  • Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of electrical codes, regulations, and safety protocols applicable to commercial projects in Sydney.
  • Problem-solving abilities: Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve electrical issues efficiently.
  • Attention to detail: Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate installations, inspections, and documentation.
