Our client, a leader in the design, laser cutting, bending, and supply of components across all industry types is seeking a Estimating and Drafting officer to join their team.

 Our client is dedicated to providing manufacturing solutions tailored to their customers' specific needs.
Primary purpose of the role is to ensure maximum profitability while maintaining customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Creating quote cost calculations from drawings, samples, and written requests for sheet metal parts and assemblies.
• Generating 2D and 3D drawings for internal processing.
• Entering customer purchase orders (Order entry).
• Ensuring timely completion of quote requests.
• Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Assisting the sales team with daily issues as they arise.
• Performing other duties as requested by the Sales or General Manager.

• Promoting and driving a Zero Harm culture.
• Actively participating in company-sponsored safety initiatives.
• Understanding and adhering to the company’s Workplace Health and Safety Policy and statutory obligations as an employee.
• Reporting hazards, near misses, and incidents to the site Workplace Health and Safety representative or relevant management representative.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Accounting, or a related field.
• A trade qualification in the sheet metal industry.

Experience:

• A minimum of 3 years of previous experience in a similar role within the manufacturing or sheet metal industry.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding engineering drawings.
• Experience in reporting on key production metrics.
• Proficiency in MS Office and ERP software.

Skills:

• Technical knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing.
• Proficiency in MS Office and ERP software.
• Experience with CAD software (Inventor, Solidworks, AutoCAD).
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal communication and teamwork abilities.
• Basic IT skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach.

Performance Goals

• Contributing to the Monthly Sales Target.
• Formal inclusion in the Sales Team Incentivization program to be implemented before the completion of the probation period.
