Job description

We are seeking motivated individuals who are already in the in the fire protection industry or have an electrical trade background and are keen to gain new skills and qualifications. The client provides in house training with nationally recognised qualifications. 

Job Responsibilities:
  • Installing electrical components of fire alarm systems, including wiring, control panels, and sensors.
  • Ensuring proper integration of fire alarm systems with other building systems.
  • Regularly inspecting and testing electrical aspects of fire alarm systems to ensure functionality.
  • Identifying and addressing any issues with wiring, circuits, or components that could impact the effectiveness of the system.
  • Responding to service calls to troubleshoot and repair electrical issues in fire alarm systems.
  • Diagnosing and resolving problems with electrical connections or components.
  • Upgrading existing fire alarm systems to meet new code requirements or to improve overall performance.
  • Retrofitting older systems with newer, more advanced electrical components.
  • Ensuring seamless communication between various components for comprehensive fire safety.
  • Installing, testing, and maintaining emergency lighting systems that are crucial during power outages or fire emergencies.
  • Installing and maintaining electrical components of smoke and gas detection systems.
  • Verifying the proper functioning of sensors and communication with the central monitoring system.
  • Working on the electrical aspects of fire suppression systems, such as control panels and triggering mechanisms.
  • Conducting regular inspections to ensure the reliability of these systems.
  • Staying informed about electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards related to fire safety.
Job Requirements:
  • Maintaining accurate records of installations, inspections, and repairs.
  • Effectively manage available time and resources and be proactive in problem solving and troubleshooting.
  • Achieve full compliance to service delivery and procedural requirements, including quality, EH&S, Ethics and Trade practices.
  • Survey customer assets and recommend fire protection and safety systems upgrades and repairs.
  • Identify, service, and repair fire protection and safety systems and equipment in accordance with Australian Standards and manufacturer recommendations.
  • Report work progress and performance by completing productivity and key performance indicator reports
  • Electrical License required
