Job description
AUSTCORP are recruiting for an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic where you will be maintaining a fleet of plant and equipment. Reporting to the head mechanic you will be responsible for the servicing of plant such as heavy vehicles, pavers, loaders and rollers.
The role includes workshop and field servicing, scheduled & preventative maintenance, repairs and responding to breakdowns. This is an ideal opportunity to join a organisation that prides itself on having a great culture, offers training and career progression to its employees.
Annually $117K - $142K - Higher based on skill and experience
Starting Minimum - Higher Starting Rates on Offer Based on Experience
Please note this role will initially be offered as a contract casual

- Normal time - $42.50PH Permanent Rate | Casual $53.13PH
- Time and a Half - $63.75PH Permanent Rate | Casual $79.70PH
- Double Time - $85.00PH Permanent Rate | Casual $106.26PH
- Weekends at OT rates
- Performing all preventive maintenance activities and scheduled servicing on vehicles and equipment.
- Repairs to equipment either in the workshop or onsite at a breakdown location.
- Locate any additional faults in equipment outside of requested service or repair
- Repair faulty or damaged mechanical parts
- Record accurately the job details in computer system
- Working to meet short sharp deadlines under minimal supervision.
- Trade qualifications in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanics or Engineering in Mechanical Trade, with experience as a qualified Mechanic
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Previous experience in providing maintenance and repairs to heavy equipment in the civil industry – Heavy vehicles, Graders, Loaders, Mixers, Rollers, Spreaders etc.
- Current Drivers Licence - HR Licence or above is highly regarded
- Construction Induction Card
- Forklift, EWP, Working at Heights, Confined Space is highly regarded
