Job description

An Automation & Controls Integrator is seeking a skilled and motivated Leading Hand Industrial Electrician to guide and support a small team of industrial electricians.

In this hands-on leadership role, you will work closely with your team to manufacture, assemble, test, and install advanced automation machinery and robotic systems. This position combines technical expertise with team leadership to ensure the successful completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and support a small team of industrial electricians to achieve project objectives.
  • Interpret and ensure team adherence to detailed electrical schematics.
  • Supervise and participate in the installation and wiring of sensors, pneumatic valves, variable speed drives, servo drives, and industrial robot controllers.
  • Promote and maintain compliance with occupational health and safety (OH&S) standards.
  • Guide the layout and wiring of control cabinets in the factory, including components such as push buttons and HMIs.
  • Coordinate and lead site visits for the installation and commissioning of custom machinery and electrical systems.
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting and technical support for heavy machinery and industrial equipment.
  • Assist the team in diagnosing and resolving issues with PLCs, VSDs, HMIs, robotics, and sensors.
  • Oversee team responses to machinery breakdowns, ensuring prompt and efficient resolutions.
  • Manage preventative and breakdown maintenance tasks for electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Plan and execute the installation of power, control, and automation systems.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • Holds a Supervisors Australian Electrical Licence.
  • Has over 6 years of experience in a comparable industry, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Possesses a valid NSW Driver's Licence.
  • Holds a National Construction Industry White Card.
  • Demonstrates expertise in pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Highly Regarded Qualifications:
  • High-Risk Work Licence – Forklift.
  • Certificate IV in Industrial Automation or related qualifications.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with robotics and PLCs.
  • Proven ability to lead and support a small, high-performing team.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $110k - $150k + Super
