This growing organisation operates within the Facilities Management and Built Environment sector. Supporting a growth program, this role will oversee a mix of internal teams and contractors undertaking Electrical, Plumbing, Painting / Decorating, Glazier, Carpentry maintenance and minor works activities across multiple residential premises.

Base Criteria
Ideally Qualified / have a background in Carpentry and 5+ years Building Maintenance and Minor Works supervisory experience within Housing, Aged Care, Defence or Mine Camps.

If you live locally in Newman, you will receive a $20K housing allowance, we are also open to considering FIFO applicants (2&1 Roster - accommodation provided if FIFO).

Outline Duties
Support and manage a small team of direct staff and sub-contractors in the efficient and effective delivery of multiple day-to-day planned maintenance, minor works, or first fix / repairs across a large portfolio in accordance with the Building Code of Australia, Statutory Compliance, and Industry Best Practice.

You will provide key leadership and direction to direct trades and sub contractors.

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong IT skills (Word / Outlook) and using Excel spreadsheets to plan and monitor work. Prior experience of a CMMS is an advantage. 

  • Over 5 years industry experience, you will have gained at least 3 years Maintenance Supervisory experience within an organisation delivering Maintenance or Minor Works projects to a mix of multi-site premises.

  • You will have excellent Maintenance Supervisory skills, able to undertake site walk-rounds and reviewing maintenance work undertaken to ensure it meets client specifications, inspecting any repeat work and minor works, allocate and sign off maintenance and repair jobs, manage direct staff, and arrange contractors where required

  • An excellent communicator, with strong English language skills, you will provide clear and concise instructions, management and direction to direct trades and contractors; while liaising internally at Regional Manager level.

  • Engaging personality and strong presentation skills.
