The Role:
As the Permits Officer, your responsibilities will include coordinating with regulatory authorities, preparing and submitting permit applications, and ensuring compliance with local building codes and regulations.
Reporting to the Pre-Construction Manager, the Permits Officer will manage the permit acquisition process for the companies construction projects.
Full Time: Monday to Friday (8:30am-5pm)

The Role:
As the Permits Officer, your responsibilities will include coordinating with regulatory authorities, preparing and submitting permit applications, and ensuring compliance with local building codes and regulations.
Reporting to the Pre-Construction Manager, the Permits Officer will manage the permit acquisition process for the companies construction projects.
Full Time: Monday to Friday (8:30am-5pm)
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily monitor and action all NSW Planning Portal payment requests for DA/ CC, CDC’s, modifications and post construction certificates
- Prepare and make payment of Water Management applications and acceptance with Central Coast Council
- Apply and make payment of all water and sewer applications with Central Coast Council
- Apply for and make payment of driveway applications for relevant Council’s and update internal
- Apply for and make payment of Long Service Levy payments
- Apply for Homeowners Warranty Certificates and monthly cancellations of project completions reaching Practical Completion stages
- Process and make payment of Hunter Water building plan applications and approvals
- Apply for Building Plan Approvals with Water Service Co Ordinator’s
- Make credit card payments for construction projects
- Manage the process of obtaining building permits, development approvals, and other necessary permits from local councils and regulatory agencies for spec home building projects.
- Prepare and organise permit application packages, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all required documentation.
- Stay up-to-date with local building codes, zoning regulations, and development requirements to ensure that projects are aligned with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with project teams, architects, and consultants to ensure that designs and plans meet council guidelines.
- Maintain organised and accurate records of permit applications, correspondence, and approvals.
- Prepare and submit necessary documentation to regulatory authorities in a timely manner.
- Address any issues, inquiries, or concerns raised by local councils or regulatory bodies, working to find resolutions in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with project teams to implement corrective actions to ensure compliance.
- Monitor the progress of permit applications and approvals, identifying potential delays and taking proactive measures to expedite the process.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure that project plans and documentation align with council requirements.
- Provide necessary information and documentation to support project design and approval processes.
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification is required. Additional coursework in construction administration, regulatory affairs, or related fields is advantageous.
- Proven experience in administrative roles, preferably within the construction or real estate industry
- Minimum 5 years experience in a Permits role within the Residential Building Industry
- Ability to read architectural plans
- Strong organisational and time management skills to manage administrative tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Familiarity with local building codes, zoning regulations, and development approval processes in Australia.
- Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks, and follow through on complex administrative processes.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

- Proficiency in using office software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
