Trade or Tertiary qualified in Construction, Architecture or Project Management, along with 5+ years Building Repairs, Upgrades and Project Management experience within Commercial Offices, Aged Care, Schools, Leisure, Universities, and State / Local Government premises.

Supporting a growth program, due to increased client demand this firm is expanding their Refurb, Upgrade, Fit-out and Minor New Build services across the Education, Commercial Office, Government, Leisure and Light Industrial sectors.

Base Criteria

Ideally degree qualified in Construction, Architecture, Project Management or Quantity Surveying along with a strong understanding of Facilities Management Minor Works and small Construction Capex Projects up to $2M. You will be able to Price-up and Quote Minor Works, or Variations while undertaking Project Management / Delivery.

Outline Duties

Support and manage the efficient and effective delivery of day-to-day minor works or refurbishment projects as well as small Capex projects across a diverse Local / State Government, Education and Commercial Office portfolio; providing key leadership and direction to direct trades and sub-contractors.

You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of multiple concurrent building upgrades, presentation works, repairs, and minor projects (typical average values of $30K to $500K each) with Capex to $2M across a diverse portfolio in accordance with the Building Code of Australia, Statutory Compliance and Industry Best Practice.

Skills and Attributes 

Over 5 years Project Management experience within an organisation delivering Small Commercial Construction / Fit-outs or Facilities Management Minor and Capital Works to a mix of multi-site premises.
  • You will have excellent Project Management skills, able to undertake site walk-rounds and identify scope of works, create project timescales and costings along with justification for self-delivery versus sub-contracting.
  • You will be able to read and interpret Architectural Drawings and advise on any alterations required.
  • Technically capable, responsible for leading relationships with contractors undertaking project works – negotiating and justifying any variations, delivering to project timeframes and advising stakeholders of potential delays.
  • An excellent communicator, with strong English language skills, you will provide clear and concise instructions, management and direction to direct trades and sub-contractors; while liaising internally at Director-level.
  • Engaging personality and strong presentation skills
  • Collating Project Data (finance, timeframe, variations, challenges, LTIs) and Reporting to all stakeholders.
  • Ensure the quality of projects and meeting completion / handover timescales.
