Key Responsibilities:
- Develop & Implement Safety Programmes:
Create, execute, and maintain robust safety policies and procedures that comply with Queensland and Australian regulations. - Site Inspections & Audits:
Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to ensure all operations meet the highest safety standards. - Training & Development:
Organise and deliver safety training for all staff and subcontractors, fostering a culture of safety throughout the organisation. - Incident Management:
Lead investigations into accidents and near-misses, compile comprehensive reports, and implement effective corrective actions. - Regulatory Compliance:
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety legislation to ensure full compliance with all relevant legal and industry requirements. - Performance Monitoring:
Track safety performance metrics and prepare regular reports for senior management, driving continuous improvement. - Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and external regulatory bodies to integrate safety into every project phase.
- A tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a safety management role within the construction industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Queensland and Australian workplace safety legislation and standards.
- A proven track record in developing and implementing successful safety programmes.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
