Job description
I am partnering with an ASX listed Engineering & Technology company to recruit a Senior Control Systems Engineer. This company has an extensive portfolio in the Mining, Resources & Energy sectors, globally. This role would be based in Perth working specifically with their Mining & Renewables projects.
Your main objective will be to work collaboratively with our project teams to deliver exceptional value through the delivery and optimization of our customers’ industrial & mineral processes by design and application of various advanced automation and process control technologies.

Your main objective will be to work collaboratively with our project teams to deliver exceptional value through the delivery and optimization of our customers’ industrial & mineral processes by design and application of various advanced automation and process control technologies.
The day-to-day operations will include the following:
- Model predictive control, machine learning and data analytics, expert systems
- Design advanced control solutions, including control strategies, and implement our technologies to optimize process plant performance
- Design, test and commission PLC, SCADA and DCS systems
- Lead the team and project on and off-site from conceptualisation through to completion
- Configure and tune multivariable predictive controller loops parameters
- Work with the client, control specialists, process and instrumentation engineers to optimise the process plants functionality
- Provide commissioning and start-up support
- Evaluate operating processes to identify areas for potential improvement
Skillset and experience required:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, controls, software, computer or process engineering; or engineering physics
- Between 7-10 years’ of industry experience in process control and/or automation design, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Exposure in the Australian mining/mineral processing industry
- Demonstrated experience with a variety of PLC/SCADA and DCS systems from design through to commissioning
