Position: Electrical and Controls Team Lead

We are looking for a skilled Electrical and Controls Team Lead to join our dynamic Sydney-based team. This role is perfect for an experienced professional eager to drive innovation and collaborate on high-tech manufacturing solutions.

Note: Candidates with a strong background in motion control, assembly, or packaging systems are especially encouraged to apply, as this experience is highly valued for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team in designing and programming control systems for high-precision manufacturing equipment.
  • Integrate components such as precision manipulators, lasers, robots, cameras, and optical devices.
  • Develop systems capable of achieving micron-level assembly accuracy.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D and NPI teams to introduce new products to manufacturing.
  • Enhance existing equipment to boost productivity and yield.
Highly Desirable Skills

Experience with assembly, packaging, or motion control systems will be highly regarded. Candidates with expertise in these areas are strongly encouraged to apply.

Essential Qualifications and Skills
  • 10+ years of experience in automation and control system design and implementation.
  • Proficient in PLC and safety automation software development.
  • Leadership in managing complex projects and mentoring engineers.
  • Proficiency in programming with languages like C#, C++, or Java
  • In-depth knowledge of safety standards (AS4024, AS3000) and machinery regulations.
  • Strong understanding of control panel design and safety circuit calculations.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, software, or mechatronics engineering.
Desirable Skills
  • Familiarity with CAD software for mechanical and electrical designs.
  • Experience with Beckhoff TwinCAT3 and TwinSAFE for PLC development.
  • Knowledge of EtherCAT protocols for advanced machine control.
  • Background in robotics or vision systems using C#.
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $110k - $130k + Super
Location: Sydney, NSW
